Neighbourhood

Azur Legacy Collection Hotel sits in the heart of the financial district of downtown Vancouver and is well placed for exploring the city on foot.

Youโ€™re just a 15-minute walk to historic Gastown, Vancouverโ€™s oldest neighbourhood, and Chinatown beyond that.

There are several museums and art galleries within a 10-minute radius, including the excellent Vancouver Art Gallery.

Cycle City Vancouver is close by as well – I went on a Stanley Park bike tour* with them, which Iโ€™d highly recommend.

Vibe

Azur Legacy Collection Hotel is one of the newest hotels in Vancouver so itโ€™s pretty popular with visitors and locals alike.

The decor exudes quiet luxury – so polished and elegant rather than over-the-top with chandeliers and gold fixtures.

Its guests tend to be young and hip, especially on a Friday or Saturday night thanks to the rooftop bar.

The lobby can get busy, but it never felt hectic while I was there.

Rooms

The 104 rooms at the Azur Legacy Collection Hotel are not as spacious as some of its competitors in the city but theyโ€™re bright, modern and well-designed.

Most are intended for two, but there are also a handful of options for four people alongside bigger suites and penthouse apartments.

Itโ€™s obvious that aesthetics are front and centre here.

Complementing the artworks on the walls are alcove shelves displaying curated pieces of objets d’art that really elevate the look of the space.

The bedroom

Most of the bedrooms feature a king-size bed, with the exception of doubles, which have two queens.

All of them come with a small work desk and separate seating space, plus a walk-through wardrobe leading to the bathroom, which is a nice feature.

The interiors centre on whites, creams and beige with accents of warm, gloss wood furniture.

The latter feels a little jarring to me as the contrast disrupts whatโ€™s an otherwise calm colour scheme.

The bathroom

The marble bathrooms feel comparatively more spacious than the bedrooms.

Double sinks come as standard, as do the monsoon showers. Some rooms also come with compact baths.

My favourite feature is the mirror – it has a lighting strip around it so thereโ€™s no fumbling in the dark when youโ€™re putting on make up.

For toiletries, itโ€™s L’Occitane en Provenceโ€™s verbena collection.

The view

Given the propertyโ€™s downtown location, the views fall a bit short here.

On the lower floors youโ€™re basically looking out onto the neighbouring office blocks.

Itโ€™s not a big deal if you intend on being out and about most of the time, but if views are important, opt for a higher floor or consider another property, like the Fairmont Waterfront.

Food and drink

There are two restaurants at the Azur Legacy Collection Hotel.

Dahlia is on the ground floor, and is where the a la carte breakfast is served. There are plenty of healthy options to choose from but the portions are on the small side.

During the day, the Dahlia menu shifts to a Mediterranean inspired selection, with dishes like spicy seafood linguini and chicken Milanese.

On the 14th floor rooftop, thereโ€™s also the dinner-only Lavantine.

As the name suggests, the menu is inspired by the cuisine of the Levant, with small sharing plates like fattoush salad and mezze platters.

Thereโ€™s a bar you can prop up against at both restaurants.

Other amenities

For a luxury hotel, there are surprisingly few facilities at the Azur Legacy Collection Hotel.

Thereโ€™s no gym, pool or spa, for example, although guests do get complimentary access to the YWCA Health & Fitness Centre down the road.

Thereโ€™s also no car park – youโ€™ll have to rely on and pay for valet parking.

Highlights

Azur Legacy Collection Hotel is considered one of the best hotels in downtown Vancouver in part because itโ€™s one of the newest and most modern.

Tech is a big part of it.

Wireless charging stations on the bedside tables, for example, are handy for international travellers who donโ€™t want to fumble with charging cables and adaptors.

And the walk-through wardrobe has space where you can hang your clothes while you steam them using the handheld steamers provided.

Another advantage is the location. You are so close to everything that you can easily explore most of the city on foot, though the three SkyTrain stations nearby also make other parts of the city accessible.

Downsides

The facilities at Azur Legacy Collection Hotel are pretty limited compared to some of the other Vancouver hotels in the same price range.

And unless youโ€™re in a higher floor room, the views arenโ€™t exactly enticing.

Asides

If you can find a good deal, and if you intend to spend most of your time exploring the city, then Azur Legacy Collection Hotel is a very good option to consider.

Itโ€™s well located and the rooms are comfortable and modern.

For families

The hotel doesnโ€™t specifically cater to families although the larger rooms that sleep up to four certainly make it a possibility.

That said, there are no child-focused facilities so the property is perhaps better suited for those with older children rather than toddlers.

For digital nomads

A small work desk plus reliable high-speed internet make the hotel a fairly good base if you want to work.

Thereโ€™s a coffee and tea station for caffeine, and a room service menu if you donโ€™t want to go out for lunch.

The rooms are pretty compact though so you might feel a bit closed in for a longer stay.

For pet owners

The hotel has a no-pet policy although service animals are permitted.

Getting here

It takes around 25 minutes to reach Waterfront Station from Vancouver International Airport on the Canada Line SkyTrain.

From there, itโ€™s around a 5-minute walk to the hotel on a slight incline.

A taxi from the airport takes around the same time. Uber is also available but I found drivers are often confused about which side of the road you want to be dropped off on.

Two other stations are close by – Burrard and Granville – and both are on the Expo Line.

Loyalty scheme

Azur Legacy Collection Hotel is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World.

You can join their Leaders Club loyalty programme, which gives you the option to earn points, qualify for upgrades and enjoy free breakfast.

Youโ€™ll also have a better chance of getting early check-in and late check out.

When I stayed

I stayed at the Azur Legacy Collection Hotel in September 2025.
